Scioto Valley Fire District Adds New Rapid Deployable Rescue Boat

The Scioto Valley Fire District is pleased to announce the purchase of a new NRS ASR 155 Rapid Deployable Rescue Boat, an important addition to our water rescue capabilities. This specialized boat is designed for both swift water and still water operations, enabling our crews to respond more effectively to a wide range of emergencies.

The purchase was made possible through the generosity of two community partners. Earlier this year, Mid-Ohio Energy Cooperative contributed $2,000.00 toward the purchase. Walmart Store #1750 (Marion) generously donated the remaining $997.84 to fully fund the boat. Their support ensures our firefighters have the tools needed to protect lives in and around our waterways.

On July 13th, crews from the Scioto Valley Fire District and Green Camp Township Fire participated in hands-on water rescue training using the new boat. The training covered both swift water and still water rescue techniques. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Lt. Nate Clark of Marion Township Fire for instructing the class and sharing his expertise.
