On Saturday, Scioto Valley Fire District hosted a Pump OPS 1 course, an essential training class focused on the fundamentals of fire apparatus pump operations. The course was delivered by expert instructors from the Ohio Fire Academy as part of their Close to Home Regional Delivery Program—providing high-quality training directly to local departments at no cost.

Firefighters from Scioto Valley Fire District, Green Camp Township Fire, and Marion Township Fire participated in this hands-on outreach class. The training covered critical topics such as water supply, pump operation, pressure control, and real-world scenario practice.

Bringing this training to our district not only enhances operational readiness but also strengthens relationships and coordination with neighboring departments. These types of joint training opportunities are vital for ensuring effective mutual aid responses and firefighter safety across our communities.
