Recently, we have had residents call the firehouse for various assistance needs, such as CO (carbon monoxide) alarms, the smell of smoke or something burning, and medical calls. We understand that you are trying to be courteous to us or do not think that it is an emergency, but this can make it harder for us to help you.

By dialing 911, the dispatcher can ask a scripted series of questions that will help determine the correct resources needed, they will receive a precise location where your call is coming from, and they will know who is available to respond so that you get the quickest service possible. There is also the chance that we are on another call, and no one will be at the station to answer the phone which could delay response to your emergency.
