Scioto Valley Fire District Increases Lifesaving Capabilities Thanks to
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation
Grant is part of more than $89 million given by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation
to support safety across the U.S.
La Rue, Ohio – Scioto Valley Fire District has been named a 2024 grant recipient by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation®, receiving $23,746 to increase lifesaving capabilities in their district. The grant will be used to purchase thermal imaging cameras for the department and will ensure our community is better prepared for emergencies.
“We are grateful to the Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Columbus for awarding us this grant,” said Josh Harper, Assistant Chief, Scioto Valley Fire District. “The new thermal imaging cameras will fulfill a critical need within our department and allow our first responders to have the latest in imaging technology. The cameras possess capabilities that allow firefighters to perform fire attack and search and rescues more efficiently but also help firefighters regain orientation in a zero-visibility environment. This is a huge benefit because firefighter disorientation is one of the major factors in firefighter injuries and fatalities every year.
For the past 19 years, charitable donations have been the driving force behind Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation® supporting first responders and public safety organizations nationwide.
