CPR & First Aid Classes
We teach American Heart Association (AHA) cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with automated external defibrillator (AED) for all age groups. We offer routine Community Heartsaver classes for all residents and businesses within the Scioto Valley Fire District. Children are welcome to take the class too as long as they are strong enough to do chest compressions. We also teach BLS Healthcare Professional (HCP) CPR for college students who need it before they begin nursing school or any other medical field and administer Skills Checks.

Heartsaver Community CPR/AED Classes
Times
Scioto Valley Fire District residents and non-residents are welcome to attend Heartsaver CPR classes held quarterly. We also can offer Scioto Valley Fire District businesses classes but please email [email protected] to set up a class. Unfortunately, we do not offer group classes to businesses outside of Scioto Valley Fire District.
Cost
CPR/AED or First Aid Only:
Residents: $25.00 Non-Residents: $40.00 No refunds.
Scioto Valley Fire District Businesses: $40.00 per person. We can invoice your business.
Combined Class:
Residents: $40.00 Non-Residents: $60.00 No refunds.
Scioto Valley Fire District Businesses: $60.00 per person. We can invoice your business.
The class is a 2-year certification with the American Heart Association and includes both adult and pediatric CPR. Once classes are completed all paperwork is turned in to our coordinator. Certification cards get emailed out after processing the paperwork within about 3 weeks.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Online CPR Class
The American Heart Association has an online BLS Healthcare CPR course (for healthcare providers) that you can complete on your own time. Anyone needing skills tested for the Part II session of the online test is welcome to register with us. See the Skills Check section below.

CPR and First Aid Skills Checks
This is for anyone who has purchased their online course directly from the AHA or another AHA training center. You should have already completed the online portion of the course. You should have a printable certificate of completion from the AHA online course.

All Skills Checks will be done on a requested basis. Please email [email protected] to set up a skills check.
Cost
Skills checks: $20.00 No refunds. Reschedules can be done.
Once classes are completed, all paperwork is turned into our CPR coordinator. Certification cards are usually emailed within 3 weeks after the class.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR Class for Nursing Students or Health Care Providers
We do offer the BLS Healthcare Provider CPR class to those students entering college for a healthcare medical field such as nursing before the start of the school year but other Healthcare providers who need the class can register too. Minimum number of participants is 5.
Times
The fourth Saturday in September will be the BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR class for college students. If you missed these classes then you can take it online here and then register for a CPR Skills Check (above this section). Full BLS classes may also be requested as well. Minimum Students is 3. First Aid and Stop the Bleed Classes
Scioto Valley Fire District offers First Aid and Stop the Bleed classes to Scioto Valley Fire District businesses and citizens in groups of 6 or more students. If you are interested in scheduling your business or group for a First Aid class, call the Scioto Valley Fire District Administration at 740-499-2545 or send an email to: [email protected].
Our CPR and First Aid certifications are with the American Heart Association, which is a two year certification. Please refer to the heartsaver section above for more info.
Any CPR or First Aid classes we offer outside of the scheduled classes will be coordinated through one of our instructors with the approval of the Assistant Chief of Operations.
